The "Reference" section on the forum...

It's showing as locked for me and when I clicked on it
I was told that I don't have the required permissions
to access this section.
So, what do I need to gain the necessary security clearances??
 
I can't be bothered to find out if this is the case, but it might be an idea to keep this section so it can only be viewed by registered members that are logged in, otherwise "guests" will just look at it and get the benefit without signing up......

And should it be done that way it might get us some new members.
 
We need to lock the posts off in the reference section; its for reference otherwise it just becomes another thread with an article at the top. Excellent idea and addition

Not at all. I was merely wondering if it was "invitation only" or similar.

I do agree that it HAS TO be locked to Members only, though. I have a few other forums (fora?) I go to that have members only areas and that is where the interesting bits are shared in and among the community.
 
Hi, can I nominate the "parts reference list" near the top of this section and Harveys
"Rover V8 datasheet" as candidates for this new section?

Hi, Rich, Harveys "Rover V8 datasheet" is a sticky in the selling section. Although I know it is
not directly a reference piece and more an opportunity to have it, so I realise it might not be
suitable. Your decision. Thanks.
