This is hopefully not important!

Apologies for posting in wrong section, but I don't know what this is, so don't know what section!
Been chasing an annoying rattle. More of a tinkle. Weirdly noticeable from engine bay when running, not interior. Eventually today traced to top of heater area. Removed top drain hose and copper elbow (nearest to wiper motor). Poked finger inside and pulled this out. I'm hoping it is not a piece of the car, and can only think someone has had the fresh air grille off and it fell down. It something. But, just in case it is a bit of something that is of some import, thought I'd ask. It seems to be glass, or very hard plastic. It's in a couple of bits! I wonder if I could ask a favour also........could someone post a picture of these drain hoses in situ as I'd like to know the correct placement in term of where they go.
Thanks in advance
Mick

Certainly not part of the heater. My guess would be a broken windshield and shards of glass down the defroster slots into the header.

Thanks so much for your reply - my thought too Vern, but I was concerned by the shape as it seems to have a definite shape, like a fitting tang, as opposed to a 'windshield diamond'. Probably a bit of a pen clip or something - couldn't imagine it being a bit of a heater - I have stored said item in the bin, resealed in the copper elbow, and will now go for a celebratory drive having located that annoying rattle and disposed of the easiest fix ever!
all the best

Hi, It looks like a piece or two of a broken laminated screen, wrong shape for toughened glass granules.

Yup, more I look more I agree - its tossed! Wonder when the screen got broken - I'll never know!
Cheers chaps
