Had a trip up to the smoke today and wanted to visit a few locations where 'The Sweeney' TV seies was filmed. Here are the pictures:

This is Colet Gardens, Hammersmith, London. The same street that was used to film the opening titles of The Sweeney.

Parked in Colet Gardens, Hamersmith, London. The building on the other side of the road is Colet Court which was where many episodes of The Sweeney were filmed.

Colet Court was used to film the TV series 'The Sweeney' Inside would have been The Squad's office, interview rooms and prison cells.

Myriad Antiques, Portland Road, Notting Hill. Regan and Carter stop by at this Antique shop in the episode called 'Nightmare'.

The building here in Portland Road can be seen in the episode 'Nightmare'. It also appears a number of times in 'Minder' as 'The Winchester Club' was in this road.

Another shot in Portland Road, Notting Hill.

The Warrington Hotel in Maida Vale featured in The Sweeney episode 'Night Out'.

Another shot of The Warrington. Went inside for a drink and seemed a nice pub.

It was an enjoyable day out and I got a fair bit of interest from passers by. One said he used to own an ex Police V8!

Cheers! :D

Great set of photos :D

As a massive fan of the Sweeney I've always wanted to do a tour of filming locations in my P6, I think I'll have to find the time.

Thanks for the comments Guys. Yes it would be good to do a tour with a few other members, I would definately be up for that. :D

Join The Sweeney on The TV Lounge, we do location tours twice a year, with special guests!
We recently finished a period tribute film, and are in post production. Should be ready to have the premier by end of August.

In your first picture, over the wall on your drivers side, is an area that was used for some of the shows stunts, most notably when Regan and Bill the driver are playing football and Bill twists his ankle!
It's sheltered housing now, but used to be a school which was bombed during WW2 when the reich discovered Churchill and Eisenhower were planning the D day landings in there!
Across the road is the appropriately named Overlord Hotel...

Thanks Rich, the car does come out well in photographs, it's my daily driver and does have a few scuffs and blisters when viewed close up.

Thanks Drew, I remember the scene when Bill twists his ankle playing football.

Absolutely amazing pic's of an amazing car in amazing locations!

Your P6 is a gem and it makes me want another of these glorious old motors...

Great set of photos there Torinouk. Looks like a lovely day for it too, quite the contrast for much of The Sweeney when it mostly appeared cold and overcast.

Was Colet Court previously a school?, as it had been my understanding that the squad office etc were all filmed inside a school :?

Ron.

Thanks Ron. Yes a lot of The Sweeney was filmed on overcast days which I think added to the gritty, hard and realistic style of the show. I believe Colet Court was a prep school and Euston Films either bought it or hired it as their main location.
