transferring number plates

It can take up to 2 weeks, for a no hassle transfer, but the vehicle its coming off may need to be inspected.
Remember the rule that the donor number cannot make the car its going on appear newer.
ie; You cannot put a P reg onto a K reg.
If its on a retention cert, they can be done in a week.
A pre 1960 MOT exempt car will need an MOT to enable that number to be transferred off that car.
If you need any help PM me as I have just done one and am doing another at the moment.

scrapping rover but plates being sold to dealer -apparently his name is Dudley---dud 800c Thanks for offer of help though mate

Shouldn't have a problem as it/if it,is still taxed and MOT'd but they may well want to inspect it,as its an original plate being removed for the 1st time.
If they do,it will have to have a clear chassis plate or chassis number stamped on it.
They did fully inspect the 1967 VW Karman Ghia I bought and recommissioned to get the reg PLK 1E off it,as they look for obvious signs of possible tampering.
As the DVLA no longer have local offices they may ask you to take it for inspection to a local police station,or if you say its not possible to move it,an officer may come to your place.
Good luck, let us know how smooth it all goes.

I saw it at Blenheim.
Different!
Shame its has to go,you put a lot of work into it.
Could you not sell it as is?
Keep it mobile till the transfer is done, the DVLA will issue an age related new non transferable C reg plate.
