Uprated ARBs no longer available from Torsion Performance

There is a distinction between circular prismatic shafts and non-circular prismatic shafts in terms of their behaviour when subjected to torsion assuming both are made from linearly elastic materials. The former will experience twist while the latter will warp. Non-circular members experiencing torsion will warp, and this warping alters the distribution of shear stress and strain within the cross section. There is an advanced theory developed by Saint-Venant that is implemented for the development of expressions for non-circular sections experiencing torsion.

Just to let everybody know, Colin Gould has another batch of his uprated ARBs currently listed on ebay:
rover p6 anti roll bar | eBay

After months of scouring eBay for the correct sized Peugeot 306 torsion bar, I was happy find these back in stock so have just bought one myself.
Colin advised me by PM that he has sold and fitted over 120 of these, and that they are approx 35% stiffer. @SydneyRoverP6B - when it arrives, I will measure it and let you know. Obviously we won't know the steel grade, but from the dimensions you may be able to offer some maths wizardry to confirm/deny the likely % increase in stiffness.

Sounds a good plan Michael.

It looks a standard thickness? No step downs for the clamped areas. Do they expect you to use longer bolts with a large open area between the clamp faces?

I don't know yet, but I will when it's delivered. I had a private PM with Colin, who is well known in the P6 community, and he advised it is one of over 120 updated bars that he has fitted with no complaints, and is approx 35% stiffer than standard.
My assumption is it is either manufactured from a material with greater torsional stiffness, or is thicker. I'll report back here when it's delivered (which will likely be tomorrow)

I’m aware of Colin’s work (it’s very well respected!). More interested in his approach vs the one I made for myself a few years back.
