Very Worn Ignition Switch

The lock assembly is attached to the column (with the shear bolts), they will both come together. The extra steps I originally missed are because the lock assembly is also attached to the dash. Once out, you should be able to drill out the pin holdinghte cylinder in place and replace it.

I have a Complete column lock (less switch ) available FOC, but no key if its of any use. It does have a sticker with BP*** on it, would that be a key number?

Hi,
Many apologies, I've only just seen your post. Thank you for your very kind offer, but another P6 owner is coming over today with a repalcement column lock for me. So between us I think we may have a solution.

Hi Ban,
Got 'Ronnie' back on Thursday!! Garage sorted the gear lever, oil leak from front crankshaft AND the ignition switch for me !
Didn't have to take out another mortgage either :), which is good 'cos those jobs would have been beyond me (I know my limits!).
All I want to do now is get him past an MoT, then I can take my time pottering about with him and enjoying going for rides.

Yippeeeeee!! 'Ronnie' passed his MoT on Thursday (after an initial 'Fail' 'cos the horn didn't work at first - probably Granddaughter being a bit over enthusiastic a couple of days before).
Brand new Lucas ones already purchased, quick fitting, retest and 'Bingo' official paperwork in hand. Not bad going since it was October, 2017 when he was last looked at for a test.

It always amazes me that simple things that worked fine before an mot suddenly give up as soon as the car gets to a mot bay :rolleyes:
