VIP not advertised as such

Looks like its all there and a genuine VIP.

All I can't see is the aircon compressor, the internal switch gear is there, and you can see other aircon specific parts, just no compressor and I'm sure it would be visible in the underbonnet pic.

If it's reasonably solid underneath it would appear to be very competitivly priced. The seller probably didn't realise the significance of it, right up to the point where the phone rings off the hook......

It's lost it's condenser as well. Still, an interesting car for not a lot of money, unless it's as rotten as a pear of course. If I hadn't been mucking about in the garden this afternoon, I'd have bought it myself!

Some lucky sod......... Bet he feels he won the Lotto and in my mind he has.

Has anybody else noticed, that it's back on again? Still listed as being in Bovey Tracy, but now up for £5250. What's occurring, I wonder?!

He's obviously now in the know about the VIP's status in the P6 world. Perhaps he visited this forum, saw the fracas, cancelled the previous advert & re-listed at the new, higher price.

Someone should have been quicker on their feet & snapped it up.

It still needs my compressor & condenser though.

Yep, was thinking along the same lines. Sighting unseen, I'd say it's a £3k car at the most.
Fed up with seeing this 'one of only 5 remaining' type stuff as well. Says who?

Its like Chinese whispers!
They keep turning up but the owners forget to add 1 to the list !
I too am fed up of repeating myself to these sellers as they keep getting the info wrong.

There were actually 4 Platinum VIP's known to the P6 Rover Owners Club, up until last year. 1 in Nottingham, 1 in Lancashire, 1 that went to Ireland and the VIP that I own = 4

There was one for sale on Ebay last year in Cornwall which sold for over £6,000. I politely contact this lady seller as she has stated the the P6ROC knew the car - and we didn't - and the quantity that was made was incorrect. I also asked if it belonged to Leon Vanstone who several years ago was on the Committee. It didn't belong to him.
Total 5

Then the one came on Car & Classic at over £10,000 ( Milestone Classics) who also stated incorrect details, so again I repeated myself and asked if it was the one that sold on Ebay from the lady in Cornwall. He didn't answer this question but eventually changed the quantity to 5. So was this 5 or 6 now ? Was it the one on Ebay ?

Now the next Platinum VIP appears on Car & Classic MJP 515P - They are also stating 5 left - but is this now 6 or 7 known ?
Today I have sent the seller a message introducing myself and asking the same questions again. I'm waiting for a reply !

I wouldn't mind if these sellers picked the phone up and rung me or sent an email.
I would pay £10,000+ for a VIP - but it would have to be in better condition that the one that's still for sale at this price. I know someone who as looked at it and apparently it needs a lot of bodywork.

There seems to be a lot of 'dealers' out there bumping prices up for what I would call standard or basic quality. If you're paying top money you want a top quality car!

There may be more out there as there were 77 made in total - 47 in Platinum and the rest in Brasilia.

Regards Deborah Stanley - P6 Rover Owners Club http://www.p6roc.com

How many in Brazilia? I've always thought being a standard colour I'd not pay any more for these regardless of being a special edition. The aircon is nice but overall, meh.
