Wanted boot mounted spare wheel cover for 3500 and boot support stay rod and bracket.

So the top one is original. The bottom one is home made, as is the rod.. which is a little long, but works.

I don't have any of the attachment brackets for the rod to the bootlid though.

Hi Chris,
Would you consider selling me one of those please and the rod of course must say the one you made looks very good :)

eBay currently has a cover listed, says its for 2000/2200 but photo shows 3500 written on box. The 62cm diameters for 165 tyres seem relatively plentiful but the 65cm for the 185.14 wheel don’t seem to come up often so it may be worth exploring. Ask vendor to measure to be sure.

Hi Horselogger,
Thanks for that but £70 for a used cover is a bit much for me  there is a brand new brown cover on there for less than half that but wrong colour and model i think i will keep searching ;)

I don’t blame you. I looked for over a year before I found one, and when I did the price was much lower than this vendor is asking (which is more than I’d pay for a decent second hand working-horse collar too, and they are even harder to find). The trouble is, I think more people have realised that these covers come in two sizes and the bigger ones are getting rare. Maybe Wins or somebody will manufacture the 65cm again sometime.

Just got a message from eBay: wheel cover reduced in price. Don’t know why they contacted me since I only looked at it, but thought I’d let you know. I’d be inclined to make an offer.

Yes i also got a message after just looking reduced to £60 i emailed the seller and made him an offer ;)

Hi, You might find that's ebay offering the price reduction not the seller and he might not agree, they're trying to increase sale event income. There was a member on another forum complaining about the practice as it was frustrating, he would have to remove and relist. It was not greed on his part it was just ebay chipping away at his return after the fees.

I have two almost new (or at least never used) covers for 3500S models. The shipping would probably be more than most would be willing to pay just to get one across the pond. 50USD each plus shipping.

Thanks for the offer ;)

If I was in need I would. I shipped many items across during my Mustang resto. Many nights I got up in the wee hours to bid on rare stuff Stateside, some winning and some losing. It's a small world, and when rare stuff turns up where ever it is, you have to grab it.

Saw a very nice cover for £20 on eBay today, for a TR6. These had 185.15 wheels so cover maybe a bit big, but quality looks good. Quite a few cheap “universal” covers available too.
