It's obviously to adjust something to do with the steering damper but if I'm honest I'm not quite sure what that does anyway, so maybe if somebody could explain that while they're there ;)

I can't see what that is supposed to be Rich. There is however no adjustment possible with the steering damper.

Ron.

Funny that . I spotted mine whilst I was doing the top ball joint the other day . Gave it a poke with the screwdriver as I thought a bolt flicked up off the road and was somehow lodged up there from way back . I left it alone as I was too busy with the ball joint .
Now I know .
Was going to attack it later but forgot. Lucky I didn't [ laughing to self]

Hi
They are only fitted on non PAS cars.
cheers.
clive.
Currently working on an retro install of power steering, and have initially left the stops on after advice received from here, however I have ground to a halt tonight as my PSbox is too high at the moment reference to the bulkhead bushing.
So no steering stops are required with PS? that will help bring the box more into the centre line. Seems strange that the manual steering box has the stops?
