Wheel nut torque

IMHO a Haynes is NOT a WSM, but thats just me....It aint in the factory manual, but its probably in the owners book. Whenever I am unlucky enough to have to take wheels to a tyre shop I specifically ask them to use a hand torque wrench, not a rattle gun. So far no objections. I will get an extensible bar for roadside emergencies.
thanks

Recently saw an old Wheeler Dealer episode on doing an MB 500SEC. They tricked it to AMG bodywork and mag wheels. According to Ed the correct torque on the AMG wheels, to avoid cracking due to thin alloy, was....25lb/ft. Something wrong there.
