Anyone who opens a car bonnet when there is a fire going on under it is an idiot. The rush of fresh oxygen will feed the fire. Pulling the release and squirting the extinguisher through the gap is the way to put it out.I use a miniature fire extinguisher which I keep in the glovebox beneath the steering wheel. Its called a Blowy . See the attached video. Locally these are becoming popular with the boating fraternity.
That's a great addition for the glove-box, but where can I buy one, did a google and nothing came up?I use a miniature fire extinguisher which I keep in the glovebox beneath the steering wheel. Thanks for your offer of help. I have two brothers on the east coast of America. Trouble is, with it being a fire extinguisher, maybe there are customs costs etc which bump the price up? Otherwise I could buy one and bring it back with me next time I visit them - though what the airport scanners would make of something like that in my suitcase I can’t imagine!Wow, I just used my old London postcode and got the same result as you . It's only $8.35 to me in California. Try emailing them and see if the can give you a manual quote????? Failing that, if there isn't anything closer and you want one you could have it sent to me and I'll send it US mail - or there are some members on the East Cost that might be able to held...
Contact a local freight company and ask them about Dangerous Goods regulations for extinguishers. You might have issues transporting a pressurized container.
