Which is the correct fuel?

Hands up I'm not driving a Rover but a 1975 Saab 96. When I brought it, I was advised to add a fuel additive. I went for Lucas upper cylinder lubricant (available on Amazon) the 96 runs well on it. What surprised me was it works on diesels as well. I added some to my Merc Diesel Van and the intermittent engine light disappeared.
Now I'm well aware this is your pride and joy. So before taking my word on this read the reviews. I'm sure if it's wrong, they'll be those on here who'll steer you clear.

Hello,

I'm also used to E5 ethanol or less, at least my car is..
Would it be an option to use a E10 protector like, for example, the one on the picture ?
I'm asking because coming week I will be in the UK with my 1979 XJ6 and I'm not sure where I can get E5 or less.

Thanks

Wilfred

Hi,

As this pertains to fuel, I thought I'd ask here before starting a new thread.

I keep my 3500 in Dublin. It's very original with 61,000 miles. As Ireland is now going to e10, are there any rubber sections of petrol line I should change? I've had a quick look in the repair manual but hoped the group might have some suggestions. I live in the States where we've been on e10 for years. I've not had any problems with my Triumph TR4A but I've changed all the rubber sections in the petrol line (more than once as I've owned the TR since 1975).

I have been using a fuel additive in the Rover as there's only a few places that sell 96 in Ireland (some Tesco stations).

Thank you for any suggestions,
Adrian
