Windscreen Rubber

Hi all, considering eventually getting round to replacing the windscreen rubber on the 2000. Where is the best place to get replacement? How much of the stainless trim has to come off? The sides look like they screw on. We had the metal scuttle off to paint it in 2018, so that should remove fine. Would have liked a laminated screen, but sound a bit expensive, so will just refit the original as it's fine anyway. Any info appreciated.

IIRC the sides are riveted on, it all comes off.
New rubbers are not made right and are a problem getting to fit at the top corners, with I believe the exception of rubbers supplied by Scotts old auto parts of Australia.
Scott's Old Auto Rubber

I bought a new rubber over here, but sent it back after comparing with the original, which I re used no problem.

The metal rain gutter at the lower edge must be in good condition along with it's rubber ( Scotts again )

There is also a foam strip under the bottom edge of the screen that will need replacing, it is @ 20mm x 10mm square section.

Havent replaced the main rubber so far, but...Cobra is correct about the other bits. My metal gutter was badly rusted and needed replacing , and its rubber - if this leaks it can get down into the heater box and rust it out - its job is to feed screen water out to the ends away from the scuttle panel. IIRC I glued the rubber into the metal channel - difficult tp fit single handed otherwise. The foam seal under the glass was completely rotten, and was replaced. Got all these bits from Scotts, as he is local to me. Before loosening the clamps I marked the glass at the top to show how deep it was in the rubber so I wouldnt over tighten the clamps. Have some soapy water on hand to lubricate the glass/rubber interface.

Hope you don't break the screen, but if you do I have a couple of spares gifted to me a few years ago. Not sure how to get one to Yorkshire though, but you're welcome to collect.

Mmmm, might just leave it alone! It's not leaking, just looks it's age. Was thinking of trying to get hold of a lammy screen to save the mess when someone hurls a rock at me from the huge tyres fitted to the modern 'sheds' on the roads these days. Price was a bit, oh my goodness yes, so won't be going that route. Many thanks for the offer of the screen if we break it. We have vehicles up and down the country every week, so will be in touch if that occurs. Think we'll just run this season as it is. Wouldn't mind selling the 2000 actually as we are on restoring a V8'S and could use the funds!!
