Wing Mirrors....not standard?

Howdy groovers,
New to the P6 thing. What's the deal with wing mirrors? Were they an option only or what? There seems to be a variety from none to behind the 1/4 glass, to halfway down the bonnet... what's the deal?

Ask this chap, he might know...…

Normally dealer-fitted with whatever they had in stock when specified. Though these days the fraternity has accepted the Wingard door mirrors as the correct period fitment (for the S2 at least) & l believe they were listed in the P6 accessories list from Rover.
They usually go for silly money which bodes well for my new & boxed one which l'm going to fund my retirement with.

bet only one light actually works, reminds me of the Mods and Rockers as a boy in Brentwood.
The mods rode Lambretta's and occasionally Vesper's...many decked out as in the picture...
The rockers, BSA, Triumph, matchless and AJS, no Harley's in those days!
All I had was a push bike for school....

Thanks for the tip. Whoever put mine on was an imbicile. Mounted in front of the 1/4 glass so it won't full open. Will get around to removing them I think and just go the 'peep' mirror. They're useless anyway and the P6 has great all-round vision.

when I fitted my wing mirrors I had to be very careful selecting the mounting holes because of the opening 1/4 light.
as an extra benefit, I bought an extended interior mirror, extra wide and just clips onto the existing mirror, now I have good
vision to the near side at all times, can spot the sneaky motor bikes in a flash..
