After working on it for one year, I sort of feel at a bit of a loss now. Still, I have postgraduate subjects to complete and I won't graduate till June next year. In the end, it stopped the clock at 55,503 words and 268 pages, which is the most I have ever written for one document.

Much impressed, and glad to see writerly Rover folk! My claim to fame is a book translation that came about in a very roundabout way. My English has since deteriorated, however.

Best of luck with completing the programme, Ron.

I think you deserve to relax with a cold brew now, Ron.
I'm looking forward to more of your reportage and Master Engineer commentary on life down under with a Rover P6. :)

I won't understand any of that, I actually thought you had spelt, "Neutral," wrong in the sceond line :)

Best of luck with it and I'm not even going to mention the, "Thesis of Stormwater Structures," was written by Ron Lake.

This was the biggest thing I ever wrote - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Man-Called-Avalon-Tony-Lacle/dp/1412056098

Thanks Richard :)

I was asked to submit an abstract on the strength of my thesis prior to writing a journal paper. If it is well received, I will give a presentation at the hydrology and water resources symposium in partnership with Engineers Australia later in the year.

I like the sound of your book, learning how forgiveness can set you free. There is a good lesson in there for many people I am sure.

Thanks Tor :)

I am looking forward to the final year, will have been at it for a consistent 6.5 years by the time I graduate.

Wow that would have interesting. Does Norwegian translate seamlessly into English or are there words that are not prepresented?

Ron.

Congratulations Ron, now you have more time for Nice Rover write-ups.

Thanks Barten :)

I am looking forward to having more time to be able to write about Rover related topics as opposed to reinforced concrete and hydraulic design :D

Haha a beer (or two) would be lovely :p

I am looking forward to that too. I must admit that I do enjoy lots of technical detail

The two languages are mutually informed, but there are matters of tone and cultural peculiarities, and all kinds of expressions that sometimes require re-creation. But that’s part of the game, and it’s excellent gymnastics for the brain
