    Goodwood Revival 2024

I’ve never heard of anyone doing commercial rentals of classic cars, other than for film work et cetera. I may know someone who has an early 70s P6 Rover that he might rent out, it mostly goes out for film work, and I think often is used as a police car. If that might be of interest let me know...

    Brass drain plug

I replaced my water jacket plate with a flat plate from Wins about five years ago. My cooling system is working absolutely perfectly. On the offside, I still have the original plate, but on the nearside replacement flat plate.

All four indicator Lights not going P6B

I had the same thing this week on my 2000, I also noticed temperature and fuel gauge died and then realised I had no brake lights. Tested the fuse and that was fine, finally tracked it down to the fact that the fuse holder needed cleaning. Simple as that .

    Trouble getting up hills

Update time, it has taken some time because I have been busy, anyhow, my head has been rebuilt with new valves valve guides and all the gaps are now correct. The good news is I can now drive uphill. It was a good spot from Harvey, it wasn’t cheap getting it all done, but well worth it.

    Fuses.

I needed some the correct length a few years back, I seem to remember I hunted on eBay and some did turn up pretty quickly. Good luck.

above my level of knowledge that one I’m afraid, funnily enough, my cylinder head is in being completely rebuilt, overhauled right now. Not something I thought I could take on myself.

Unable to remove Distributor driving gear

Once "B" is removed it should lift straight out, I used a magnet on the end of a short rod. It should lift away very smoothly.

    Trouble getting up hills

Harvey wins the goldfish. Today I had all my valve clearances checked, and to my horror, my clearances are well outside of the tolerance. Now, where did I leave that bucket full of shims? Thank you Harvey.

    Trouble getting up hills

No, not yet. looking at some posts from our friends, might be an idea for me to advance the time in a little, and also make sure my carburettor is not running lean, I think it possibly is a tad. If none of that works then I’ll check the clearances..

    Trouble getting up hills

It’s all been checked and overhauled and then tested again, so I don’t think my issue is with the dizzy.

    Trouble getting up hills

No, the idle is nice, and smooth, it is slightly variable tick over but it is smooth. Also a very steady exhaust note so perhaps not a broken valve? A leak down test might be a good idea, or maybe I’ll treat myself to one of those borescopes on eBay. Anyone had any luck using one?
