    P6 Wiper blades

I like the look of the original Speedblades, so get replacement rubbers from the local factor. They are wider than most modern rubbers- 8mm I think whereas most modern wipers seem to take 6 or 6.5mm refills. EBay usually has some suitable refills - from China. I also have a set of 14” stainless...

    Decal Placement Reference Library

If your radiator top sticker has less detail then it may be like mine: early Mk2, before the 3500s came along. Same sticker as on a P5b. Available from JRW.

    P6 towing.

I have a couple of the wing-mounted mirrors in the shed. They are simple to mount - you might put some tape on the metal ends to avoid any risk of scratching paint should they move when en route. They look good. However, like wing-mirrors they are far away. I prefer the Raydyots clipped onto...

    P6 towing.

I still have my Raydyot mirrors from over 40 yrs ago ( bought 1982) and they fit ok on the Wingard door mirrors. I’ve had a look on eBay and there are a few advertised -Raydyot Classic seems good search wording. Otherwise look for the sort that clipped onto the front wings. They were popular...

    Steering column adjustment

Take out the “shin bin” glove box and you should be able to see the casting well enough to distinguish the two types. They will have the names cast in the metal but the L&F looks quite rounded in its overall appearance whereas the Britax looks more angular.

    Front indicator bulb holder

I found a front lamp unit on eBay and the vendor has just offered me a reduction. I’m no good at attaching links so I suggest you go on eBay yourself. Maybe contact the seller and see what kind of deal you can get?

That’s what I found. From your description of the problem this looks like it should do.

JR Wadhams have a repair kit in their online catalogue. Maybe that would suit.

    Steering column adjustment

I’m in the process of replacing the ignition switch on my early Series 2 ( not so hard thanks to Forum posts). I have removed the steering column adjuster. Unfortunately I was not sufficiently careful and the mix of flat, Tufnell, and double coil washers ended up on the floor. I have them all as...

    Which is the correct fuel?

I’ve no experience of any protector but for E5 I’d advise you to look out for a Tesco supermarket filling station - there are plenty about in urban areas so should be easy to spot one - and get Tesco high octane, branded as Momentum.

Waiting Times for MOT's and 3 other things.

MoT around here rarely involves a wait of more than a week. However: I lost a filling last Thursday. Can’t get a dental appointment until July 13th.

    What Battery?

I’ve put a Varta D48 on mine, but it would appear that not everyone on here has the pos and neg terminals the same way round. I bought it online at Tayna Batteries. They have a selection tool that you can use to see what fits. I can’t find anything above 60ah that fits in my battery box.

Hope you don't break the screen, but if you do I have a couple of spares gifted to me a few years ago. Not sure how to get one to Yorkshire though, but you're welcome to collect.

This is a really fascinating thread, but my curiosity is threatening to be overwhelming: have you actually got a roof sorted yet?

    Which is the correct fuel?

I use Morris' lead replacement additive with the Tesco E5 or whatever fuel I get, and an occasional shot of Red X. I also use Morris' classic 20:50 oil as it is high in zinc, good for old-style engines.

    Which is the correct fuel?

Most garages near me are Texaco, with E5 at 97 octane. Car runs ok on that fuel, but a 16 mile trip for Tesco E5 at 99 octane (almost the old 5 star) is worth the effort as there's a noticeable difference. At least on my car with it's 10.5:1 compression ratio.
