Fuel Gauge Diagnostics

Dear all

I'm having issues with my fuel gauge/sender/wiring.

So far: temp gauge works so regulator must be ok, I'm assuming that there is only one feed into the gauge from the circuit board as I can only find one with the multi meter (out of the 4 available contacts) and that goes t20260404_145325.JPGo the regulator and then to each gauge (temp/fuel)

I've shorted the gauge and the needle goes to full deflection so assuming all this is ok.

There is no power at the sender end (green/black wire). I've tested this using the earth wire from the loom and earthing to the chassis.

The next thing I wanted to establish is which of the contacts on the back of the gauge is the power output back into the circuit board and then to the loom and out to the sender. As I understand it the power goes in one end of the gauge and out of the other and then to the sender and the resistance from that feed denotes the gauge deflection.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

Hello, the voltage stabiliser may be faulty and causing the problem.
Thanks for that although I was under the impression that If the temp gauge works then that means the regulator is ok as it feeds both gauges. Cheers
