Taco stopped new member any wiring pointers please

With ignition on (in the run position), should have battery voltage going from switch to the tacho (white wire) and from tacho to ballast resistor cable showing same voltage (white/yellow). That's up behind the dash. Then from ballast resistor cable to coil positive connector should be around 7.5 volts when running (white/purple). The positive at coil is the one with two connectors....one from ballast cable giving 7.5 volts when running; other from starter solenoid giving battery voltage when cranking. Coil negative goes to distributor, of course. If cranking and running voltage at coil positive are correct, then likely the problem is with tacho itself. Not sure you'll find anything user serviceable in the tacho but maybe its a poor connection.

Anyway, good luck resolving it. Don't bank on wire colours being correct.

It's worth also checking that the needle isn't interfering with the actual dial. On my P6B the dial was making contact with the spindle and stopping it from moving. Once I loosened off the two screws and moved the dial a fraction it came back to life.
