Got lucky enough to be invited to the Drive til dusk event last month. They normally invite about 20 people to bring and drive their cars at the NY safety track near Cooperstown NY. We arrive on the first afternoon, meet up for a meal then stay overnight at a small bed and breakfast. We basically take over the whole place as you can see from the car park the next morning.
Then we drive to NYST (about 40 mins away) and are split into two groups sorted by speed etc. Each group gets four half hour sessions on the track, enough time plus some. I’m pleased to say I kept the Alfa in the rear view mirror for the whole session.
The next day we do a 200 mile road rally on New England backroads to Troutbeck CT. All in all I reckon I did about 700 miles (75 on track) and the Rover didn’t miss a beat. We also surprised a few guys be easily keeping up on the backroads. Nobody suspects the Rover!
