The starter on my 2200TC makes a graunching noise but only when the engine starts, the sounds last for a second or two. The starter is of the pre-engaged type. I am thinking something needs lubricating but which bit ? Or am I better to replace ?

I have just swapped my 2200TC 1974 over to V8 hubs. Replaced the wheel bearings. The Rover manual says that earlly cars have about 3 though endfloat but later cars should have zero. Is this right ? I adjust the bearings to zero by turning the nut by hab=nd until the endloat just disappeared.

Does anyone know how much road tax was put on a new p6 in 1974/5 by BL/Rover dealers ? I would like to recreate the first tax disc to display in my car now that tax discs have been abolished and wanted to get the correct month and year. Cheers Pat
