Hi everyone,

anyone know the best place to source oil pressure pipes for my 2200 tc? the flexible steel ones? a leak was identified from these pipes late last year and im looking to get this fixed as part of getting the car ready for hitting the road this summer.

Wadhams had them when i looked several months ago (well i think it was the right ones) but cant see them at all now.

cheers,

craig.

I saw one listed by Wins last night when I was looking for parts. You may be able to take the fittings you have and have some hydraulic hoses attached to fix them. Does your car have an oil cooler. If it does have a oil cooler, then you might want disconnect it and run like an SC car. In the later TC's the oil cooler was an option.

Is it definatley the pipe? They have o rings which can fail. Easy to fix them.

Yeah im not too sure the exact nature of the leak but it did seem strange to me that these pipes would perish, so im thinking its the O rings or another issue with the fittings.

When the mechanic highlighted the issue he said these pipes were hard to fix/replace due to how they are 'crimped' to the fittings? Is this the case? Ive seen an old thread on here (cant remember who) and i think they had just removed these alloy crimps and secured new pipes just using jubilee clips? Is this an often used fix?

I also understand the sump on the 2200's never came with a gasket? Whats the best method of fixing leaks from this area?

Cheers,

Craig

Correct.

Seal with a smear of Blue Hylomar (the original gel, not silicone), and make sure the engine breather system is all clear.
