Hi Falkor :great explanation on the steering box, so what are you going to do Marc, new one or Repair?
Hi Chrisw:Love to know how early the chassis number, and first registration are?
Hi Marc,
Thanks for the chassis number. Yours is one of the earliest surviving LHD P6s. If you add your car into all early surviving P6s - RHD and LHD - there are probably less than 35 older surviving cars.
The early cars are very different from even the 1965 cars. They were much more hand-built, and are more of a drivers' car.
Well done on saving her.
Chris
Whaoouh, thanks a lot for the insight, I had no idea of how early this car actually is. I am also a Land Rover Series owner and for these we use CalVin service to get identification on year, market etc. based on Vin number. What reference do you use for P6's?
Marc
love the look of the car, its patina and the garage are a close match.Good day,
Another week and it's D day : Will travel 500 Kms with a RR Sport and a trailer to finally collect the P6 and drive it to a freshly tidied up garage
After inspection the plan is to drive over to UK before chaos and bring back a boot load of parts to start the back on the road exercise.
I therefore have a couple of questions :
Where can I source of workshop manual and parts manual (either soft of paper)
Which parts vendors in UK are worth looking at?
Thanks a lot for your views and advice
Marc
