Hello everybody would like to have some advice on my ignition system .witch is the way to go .
First tings first it’s a p6 who is running now with a Sd1 Vitesse engine . the EFI system was removed en replaced by a manifold with su hif6 carbs .
Reason for doing this is MOT regulations in belgium . the engine was fitted whit a pertronic II ignition en flame thrower coil . never run smooth en never had the feeling I was running with a 180 Hp car .
The timing cover was a originel p6 cover with en upgrade for the oil pump with the female axel in the shaft of the oil pump tho the gears of the pump .
Wanted tho replace the pertronic system tho a innigition from lucas type 35d8 41575E with a luminition upgrade in it .
Wanting to put the ignition back in a notest that it wont go in . the gears war unable to turn free . thook the gear from the pertronic of en found out dat the pin of the schaft was twisted with 90 degrees .
over and out for the timing cover took them out , i don't really have any faith anymore in the system with the spacer as en upgrade for the oil pump , butt still have a good timing cover from a p6 engine .
witch has a lower volume of oil going thru the pump is this a problem for this type of engine ? what do you recommend on doing with the ignition .
to things the distributor drive gear is the original from the SD1 engine i think is this compatible with the gear on the ignition ? witch should be the right ignition for this setup .
the pulley is also from a p6 engine i this en issue to set the timing richt ? gone need some advice from specialist i think .
