Hi,
Here in Malta fuel with an octane rating of 98 (RON) has finally become available and I decided to run my 1969 2000 TC with this fuel. Since it is an export model the engine supplied had a lower compression ratio ( 9:1 ) and therefore required fuel of a 96 (RON) as a minimum as opposed to UK vehicles that required a 100 (RON) fuel.
Lats week I emptied the fuel tank from the old fuel and as the tank was empty decided to remove the sending unit to check on its condition . I have attached a part I found inside the tank and cannot find where it should be or its purpose. Anyone got an idea? I placed a lighter next to it for size comparison.
Thanks
Regards
Richard
