WANTED... Police spec' front valance spoilers for P6B...

Hello there... In the quest to add a few choice period accesories to my P6B I am on the hunt for the front valance spoilers that were fitted to various Police P6B's during the 1970's... If anybody out there knows where I can get a pair (original or reproduction...) it would be greatly appreciated indeed...

Originals are very rare indeed! Reproductions are available from Alan at Classeparts 01525 382968.

Just in case anyody wondered what an earth I was talking about here's a helpful reference picture...

Alans ones are good ... the fit of these is not perfect, but then again nor were the originals. It took me a couple of hours to fit them. Alan is your only bet really.

One of the other forum members and myself have had 20 pairs created from one of my original pairs.. we'll have about 18 pairs spare, and for sale at a lot less than Classeparts are. Should be available within the next month, all being well..

Hey those spoilers look like an interesting addition for the car :) Once available I would be keen on a pair of them :D

Depends how good the mouldings are, the quality of the gel coat, the fixings etc. Alans need nothing more than a coat of paint.

I look forward to stories of people crying as they drill holes in their front panels ... best done from underneath on the ramp.

They look like this: and Sparky will be fitted with a pair for the Peice Hall on Sunday 8)

They do need a bit of fettling but do look the part.

I haven't finished fitting them yet, but all I need to do is to get the right colour paint  and drill them for the inner bolts. All bolts are supplied.

That looks like you're going to get a superb end result there... Did you use another (spare) front valance or were you brave enough to have a go with the one from your car...?! Please show us the finished article as soon as you can... Good work...

Was it you who were going to do a set of grab handles as well, or am I getting senile and that was another thread?

Chris

I used my own valance - didn't occur to me that I might ruin it

I will post up the final pics tonight when I have put it all back together.

Was it you who were going to do a set of grab handles as well, or am I getting senile and that was another thread?

There has been a discussion about the grab handle but it hasn't gone anywhere yet, but I do have some ideas 8) - do you want one?

I have fitted another front bumper as well, hence it was easy to remove the valance.

We glassed in two of these 'BigHead' fasteners into each of the spoilers so are happy that the fittings are strong enough.

A pair of spoilers comes with four bolts and four smaller countersunk stainless steel machine screws and nuts for the inner fitting, plus washers.

Anyone wants a set, PM me or Chrisw - we now have a few sets.

Now take the car out and do some high speeds ... tell me honestly if you think they make a difference. I had mine up to 103 the other day (on a private road naturally), and experienced little if any front end lightening ..... my problem is a rattly cabin ... engine got more to give, but I havnt the bottle!
