Wiper delay not working, how to solve?

Thanks jp928, I have two delay units that fit to the motor, both working fine. Yes I’m talking about the control valve on the steering column, I‘ve had a search but can’t find a replacement valve. I think that the white valve must be pressed into the black body somehow, and not designed to be...

Wiper delay not working, how to solve?

Thanks for replies, I’m guessing that new valves are just not available any more. I’ll make sure that all connections are tight and try to get some silicon spray grease into the valve.

Wiper delay not working, how to solve?

Mine works well, the delay is variable between 1 and 11 seconds, I just wanted to put some silicon grease on the white control valve to perhaps increase the delay interval, in case some vacuum is being lost around the circumference, or the clearance between it and the valve body. I can’t seem to...

Wiper delay not working, how to solve?

Ok, so it just pulls out? I tried with some force but it wouldn’t come out

Wiper delay not working, how to solve?

Sorry to resurrect this, but how did you get the white valve out of the body? Brute force and ignorance? Thanks

    Earth location?

Hi All, 1973 3500S: I appear to have missing earths on nearside horn and inner headlight. I’ve disconnected the wires at the horn and headlight bullet connector respectively, and there is no continuity between the wire terminals and a known good earth. The wires disappear into the nearside...

    Wtd S2 clock illumination ring

Hi All, have just fixed my clock, but a previous owner has broken the blue green illumination ring, I think by trying to get the hands off. So I’m after one of those, or complete clock if the price is right, doesn’t matter if it’s a non runner. Thanks, kwacka

    Replacement de dion tube?

Thanks again for replies. The noise is spookily like a rattling shock absorber mount, but the car had new gaz shocks and rubbers less than 2000 miles ago, so didn’t bother to check other than a quick visual. The mounts are easily accessed so will take them apart. I was aware of the poly bushes...

    Replacement de dion tube?

Thanks Ron, I think I’m going to have to get underneath again if collective thoughts are that it probably isn’t the de dion. The noise is a knock that is in time with every slight movement of the suspension. To try to isolate it I made a heavy lever from 3x3 timber and had it in contact with...

    Replacement de dion tube?

Thanks all for replies, I’m coming to the conclusion that this isn’t going to be a quick fix. I had already contemplated having the inner tube surfaces hard faced and reground, and new bushes made (I read on this forum that they were synthetic material), but there is no info on the internal...

    Replacement de dion tube?

By servicing, do you mean clean out, replace seals and refill with oil or grease? I can’t find anywhere where the synthetic bushes are available, or the inner tube.

    Replacement de dion tube?

Hi all, my recently acquired '73 3500S has a really annoying suspension knock coming from the rear. I've narrowed it down to a badly worn de dion tube. I guess it's original at 86k miles, so perhaps not surprising. What is surprising is that doesn't appear to be any replacements available, so...

    Hi from kwacka

Thanks Graeme, I'm still trying to compile a 'to do' list, and am in touch with the last but one owner who did a lot of work on the car, they may have been done. If not I'll probably get them done when the gearbox is removed. Is there any particular reason you have said that - based on mileage? Ian

    Hi from kwacka

Nice, it's surprising how much the early Japanese bikes are now fetching. I remember seeing my first CB750 next to a Triumph Thunderbird 650 and being blown away. I also remember the first Honda dealer in Leicester, Ken Ives - everyone thought he (and the bikes), wouldn't last 5 minutes...

    Hi from kwacka

Thanks cobraboy, tbh there's a bit more, it jumps out of reverse, noisy in 2nd and a bit rattly all round. 3rd is near impossible from 4th, even double declutching. I will talk to Harvey but I think I'll have to bite the bullet at some point, it's taking away a lot of driving pleasure atm.
