Ron, I have done something to the whole forum display - it only occupies 1/3 of the screen, in the centre. How do I get back to normal please? All the text is tiny...?
thanks
john
Hi Demetris,
Just a quick hello from Poros. I see you are active after many years here, congratulations.
Very best regards
Paul

i cant get it warm because it refuses to start at all, and yes the throttle was wide open, i have tried timing and everything else i have read about but it is as stubborn as ever,
i have now sent it back to the shed that it came from and swapped it for a "76 3500 auto and i might come back to it sometime in the future.

I wouldn’t say that 110psi is low enough to stop it starting. I’m guessing you’ve checked fueling and spark? Might be worth static timing for the ignition. Also, check spark plug gaps.

One thing to also check, try a drop of oil in each cylinder, if you’ve turned over the engine a lot without firing you might have washed the oil off the cylinder walls.

yep i have checked fuel and spark, plug gaps might be a problem, and yes there was oil in the cylinders during compression testing and my starting attempts.
as i said before i have swapped it for a blue 3500 in my other shed and may come back to this 2000 sometime in the future.
A.B. Bonds, a.k.a. gbvona was my high school buddy. We graduated together in 1964. He passed away suddenly last year, and through the incredible generosity of his brother and sisters the car is now in my hands. He had done an incredible job with it mechanically. Runs like a champ. Am ready to paint. Does anyone have a paint code for Sage Green? Rover part no. for one gallon is 389096.

can't help with paint code but I did find when I needed rear lower valance painted that the car has been repainted by previous owner and was NOT per paint code. many paint shop/suppliers can and do match paints .. I just needed to take a painted part in for them to match picked up part and paint 24 hours later.
