i have due to comitments at work and a change in my working times
i have decided to sell my p6
it's been off the road due to a brake problem since before christmas
and i just dont have the time to sort it
so its gotto go. :( :(
i will be removing the lpg kit tho
i'm looking for a useable interior for my p6
even some carpets to use a templates to make new ones would be helpful
i am also hunting for a roof panel as mine has a leaky sunroof and it rotted the roof around the sunroof.
would be good if these items were: A, cheap  / B within a...
ops yes i have just put one of those
cheapo eletronic dizzys in my 2200 p6 its one meant to be fitted to my mgbgt
works a treat self contained unit no black boxes etc
got it of ebay sometime ago cost £30
on the downside it has to use there own made rotor arms which are about £14 but other than...
right the p6 is going well but:
when i brake the 1st push on the pedal is fine
but if i come off and brake again the pedel is stiff like the servo hasnt re~pressured?
is this normal
other classics i have owned havent had servo assisted brakes
you can check the machinal advance with a normal timing light
as you can the vac advance.
is the coil 12v or 8v ?
i think most electronic covertions use 12volt coil
this could account for loosing power at high revs as theres not enough voltage.
fitted full set of uj's
driveshaft and propshaft.
both rear wheel bearings.
the brake calipers are fine and free with new pads.
still i have this vibration.
the prop has been balance and weight tested.
whilst on the ramp i changed the g/box and diff oil.
on a legal point you dont need to get a DIY lpg conversion certified
the dvla dont need it to change car to dual fuel.
some insurance companies do ask for a copy of lpga cert but most dont bother
i just take my self converted vehicles to a local installer for safety check.
ok thank u chaps
no flat spot in tyres (fitted new)
have put some spray grease round ujs
i know its not going to do much but it has been off road for 20 ish years and it may help incase they are stiff
and i have just discovered the diff is low on oil?
when i get upto 55 ish i get a vibration, but it goes away after 65?
its through the whole car not the steering.
i have had the wheels balanced.
looked at the propshaft and driveshafts can't see anything a miss.
but i have notice when turning the left hand rear wheel there is a click coming...
well i only converted it today,
i will up load some pics tomorrow,
seems to run really well.
as for the cost i fitted a secondhand bits that i got via ebay, its not the first conversion i have done i also own a
vw camper that is converted .
i get same mpg out of that as i would on petrol.
well i have gassed my 2200 tc
not to bad a job
some difficulty in placing the vaporiser, ended up tucking it down the nearside of the heater
also running the pipe from tank in boot to front took a bit of head scratching, trying to keep the
pipe as far a possible from the exhaust.
so has...
