    Tappet shims

Hi All, I have looked at the threads on here regarding the shims and tappets and now looked at the photo's in the Haynes manual. This may be a daft question but I'm assuming that these shims allow the valve to open fully. If the valve has receded into the cylinder through general wear and tear...

    Badge Bar

Hi Pilkie, Thanks for that, I'll have a look about and see what I can find, I'm collecting the car on Sunday so it's my first Rover and is the s2 with the plastic grille, whilst I don't mind the plastic grille I do quite like a car badge or two so it will be nice to fit a bar. regards John

    Tappets Adjustments

Hi All, I've seen from other posts that the tappet adjustment on the Rover is by using shims of different sizes. When I've collected my P6 2200sc auto I will need to be looking at checking and adjusting and shims. I'm not sure if I will risk doing the work myself until I've taken a look, but I...

    Anti Freeze

Hi All, Just purchased my P6 and she will need to have some anti-freeze put in her. My Standard 8 could only use a particular type to avoid severe corrosion, is this the same with the Rover and if so what type/make should I be getting? Regards John
