    2000 TC Engine number

Engine number is 415002, so apparently 10:1. I decided not to buy the car because of several reasons. It's a solid rust free car but needs a retrim, rear brake work, radiator, all the rubber trim, carpet, etc. I still think it's a great car but the price is too high when you factor in the work...

    2000 TC Engine number

It's a '66. That 1st link I attached says if the engine number 415 it's 10:1, and if it's 416 it's 9:1. I'll see what I can find soon. I'd like to get a compression test as well but my gauge broke a year ago and I never bought a new one so I hope the owner has one.

    2000 TC Engine number

Thank You! Looks like they did come in 2 CR's based on this Rover Classics I just found. Since this is a Federal car I'm assuming it will be the lower CR since our fuel here for the most part had a lower octane rating, but I could be wrong. Maybe it being a '66 and one of the first to come here...

    2000 TC Engine number

Where is the engine number located? I found this online Engine Number and was surprised that the TC had both 9:1 and 10:1 CR. I thought they were all 10.5:1. Can anyone verify this information as well as the engine number location? I'll be looking at the car I might buy again today and I'm...

    Seats hard as a rock

I'm possibly going to buy a '66 2000TC that is actually a decent car except the seats are very hard and have never been conditioned over the years. I'd prefer to keep the original seats and bring them back to life, but after watching the video of the gentlemen who did his P4 I honestly don't...

    2000 TC manual gearbox towing

Colin, Not sure where you're from, but in the States almost all states require a braking system. More than one way to do it, but the most popular way is a device located on the drivers side floor which is wired to the tow vehicle brakes. When the tow vehicle brakes it actuates the device which...

    2000 TC manual gearbox towing

Okay, so if I absolutely have to I'm good with towing a 2000 tc, correct? Most autos can't be towed except for some (not all) newer GM and Ford cars, and Jeeps with a transfer case that can be shifted into nuetral. I know not all manuals can, but most can as long they stay somewhat level. So if...

    2000 TC manual gearbox towing

I know I shouldn't, but for a one time only situation can the Rover manual be towed in neutral with all 4 wheels on the ground and still lubricate the transmission properly? I know some manual transmissions can and some can't, but I have no clue about the Rover gearbox. I can also disconnect the...

    Washington State USA

Yes, it looks good. I've contacted him and will try to see it this week. Just closed on a house today, so I'm trying to balance moving, looking at the car, and keeping my wife happy. Hopefully I can see it later in the week. ,Russ

    Washington State USA

Having owned Lotus Elans, Sunbeam Tigers and Alpines, a Frogeyed Sprite, a Land Rover Discovery and too many Morris Minors or to count, I find myself seeking more self punishment and looking to buy a P6. I've found 2 and will be looking at and driving them this coming week. I'd like to say I...
