Where to get new sills for my P6??

Thank you for all your responses. Sorry to have not replied sooner, have been having problems with BT. I thought that would be the general train of thought on this thread, i can weld so thats not a huge problem, and i was considering making patches until i realised that i would need nearly the...

Where to get new sills for my P6??

Hiya folks, I need to get a price for a few sill panels for my P6. Yeah she runs, but i reckon a speed bump and she'd break  I enquired on the JRW site but he hasn't got back to me so thought i'd ask where others have bought them from? I'm looking for numbers 9, 10, & 12 in this...

Cant get the old girl started.

No, pump seems to be pumping quite well. Just what was coming out was quite manky. Give a good 'glug' every couple of revololutions. Now just got to track down a good used clutch master cylinder. Seems to be the problem that is stopping her moving at the moment  Roll up roll up, the...

Cant get the old girl started.

Yep it eventually came down to manky fuel, and different brands of cap & Rotor not touching in the middle. Gave the carbs a good clean up, ran her for a little from a jerry can, pumped plenty of 'yellow' petrol out of the lines, and shes running lovely. Now just gotta give it a good service...

Clutch problem (and working in a field)

Aah, dont say that  Little update. She now runs, fter much tinkering and cleaning of carbs, fuel lines, ignition system etc. Oh and a rotor arm and dizzy cap that actually touch in the middle. That'll teach me to mix manufacturers  Anyway, loosened the nuts holding the master...

Clutch problem (and working in a field)

Usefull but disapointing, i was kinda hopeing i could just get it onto tarmac, warm her up then start in 1st and break the clutch break free. Thinking maybe the pedal would pop up and all would be hunky dory. (Obviously i knew it would never be that easy but hey you never know) Right i shall go...

Clutch problem (and working in a field)

Hi folks, i have a problem with the clutch on my soon to be started 3500S project. Now i know you probably hate posts like this but i promise it will be my last. The clutch pedal is stuck down (can be pulled up a bit but then no proper weight behind it and wont return when pressed) The...

    Quick dizzy question??

All good stuff. I'll fit my new (pattern  ) dizzy cap. And my rotor arm when i get it. Make sure she runs alright, then pull the dizzy and compare to this spare see how it goes from there. Cheersfor the info, Chris

    Quick dizzy question??

Just a quickie. I've seen a little about upgrading to electronic ignition. Is this a good idea before i buy my new dizzy cap and rotor arm? Is it just a case of swapping the whole distributer with one from a more modern (EFI) engine? Cause as it happens i have a little bit of a range rover...

Yeah, i'm always careful with petrol in spray bottles. I watched a con rod shatter the side of a two stroke, two pot engines crankcase once after the owner decided to fill the bores up with fuel before cranking it over. I guess it was still in there burning when the piston came back up. Pilkie...

Well here she is. (not 56K friendly

Ah, i've not seen any P6's on the road around here, I'll have to pop over and compare notes one day when mine's on the road. I'll photo under the rubber side bits next time i'm with it. I did have a look under them though and it just looked like a lot of glue/seam sealer. Grey box with the...

Well here she is. (not 56K friendly

Hiya, finally got over to take some pics of the P6. And finally cajoled my PC into uploading them. I dont think she looks too bad in general, the interior is neat and tidy. The sunroof moves smoothly. There are bubbles in the paint around the bottom of the doors and whatnot but only a...

Wow, i'm not used to responses this quick on a forum. This is my engine bay. Which is a pair of SU's? all integral? The car is a N plate 1974. 3500S The little bit of fuel i got out of the lines, when i was first checking flow was not very unleaded coloured. Very old and stale i reckon...

Funny you should say about the squirty bottle  It's great for starting 2 stroke boat engines :D Maybe i'll trust the coil a little further if they are fairly robust. As for your questions Mr Pilkie: I dont know when it was last started, but a little more than 2 years ago i think...

Cant get the old girl started.

Right just a couple of questions, i'm kinda new to all this carby stuff. More at home with EFI really. If i take the fuel line off the carbs, should i be getting a decent spray of fuel when cranked or does it kinda spurt gently? How big is the reserve supply, I'm guessing this is just a...

    Cameron Green Cellulose paint

Hiya, i just bought a P6 which i think is Cameron Green whuch deffinatly needs the bonnet and boot respraying as well as the corners of all four doors. So a tin or two could come in handy. I'll double check on the colour first though, get some piccys up ASAP.

Noobie, Might be getting a P6 Soon

Well i went and picked her up today. All looks fairly neat and straight, scabby round the edges but i think that was to be expected. Lifted the rear seat seat cushions and it's lovely and clean under there. Not checked the boot floor yet though. I forgot to take my camera so i havn't got...

Noobie, Might be getting a P6 Soon

Went to have a quick look the other day but it was getting dark so i'll go and have another look in the daylight soon. Generally it looked fairly good. Window seals where a litle cracked, a couple of bubbles around the bottom of the doors. and passenger side rear door i reckon needs replacing...

Noobie, Might be getting a P6 Soon

Hi guys, i'm new here. Always been into older cars over all the new jelly molds. My current collection is an old Suzuki SJ410 which i use for off-roading, and a 1989 BMW 3 series which was my dad's and is now my daily driver. The reason i'm here though is because i have recently been offered...

LPG KIT WANTED - NOT GIVING THE GOV'T ANY MORE!!

Over here in sunny Blighty a few insurance companies require nothing, a lot will only need an LPGA approved company to inspect it and supply a certificate (between £50-£100), And a few require that the whole instalation be carried out by an LPGA approved company. Twin mixers are fairly simple...
