As Harvey said, that’s where I would start. I went to replace my switch panel recently as the Perspex was all cracked, thought I’d get away with using the switches on the replacement panel but as soon as I did that I lost indicators and hazards and that was due to dirty contacts on the hazard...
Reminds me of my days when I lived in the UK and owned a couple of Vauxhall VXR8's. They had halogen projector headlamps and I replaced the bulbs with Xenon ones. I clarified the MOT regulations with my local tester regarding Xenon and the requirement of self levelling and headlamp washers and...
After putting my engine back together it looks like the copper hose under the manifold has corroded enough to spring a leak, I guess the removal and refitting disturbed it.
I'm reluctant to remove the manifold again so is it possible to bypass that with a length of heater hose from the heater...
Thanks, yes, that makes sense re: the corners.
Standing at the front of the car, if you look at the intake manifold the second bolt hole from the front left is a square cutout and the gasket has a matching cutout also which according to the manual lines up, except that makes the ‘front’ embossed...
Guys,
Just reading the workshop manual and I'm scratching my head where to put the gasket sealant as I can't quite comprehend the instructions! :)
Step 28 as per the photo - What does it mean by corners of the head? Should I be reading this as applying the gasket sealer just around the water...
Thanks Gavin.
Have been deciding if it’s something I want to tackle myself or get fixed by a specialist but looking at the manual and a couple of videos it doesn’t seem too difficult.

OK, so I tested using a kit today and the liquid went from blue to green after a few minutes.
So, as I don’t have any white smoke etc. is it likely to be an intake manifold gasket or a head gasket do you think?

I have been looking at the expansion bottle from a Land Rover Freelander I, it has a round design with a single foot for bolting and I wonder whether that would fit utilising the existing single bolt for the brake hardware (or with a short fabricated bracket), not sure on the diameter of the...
I loose a little but only from the cap I think, the radiator sits around 1/2 to 3/4 and will spit out anything more than that. Temp gauge remains in the white all the time.
Hey guys,
I've noticed a slight exhaust gas / fuel smell in the coolant, no signs of contamination to the coolant but when running, the car does seem to pressurise the coolant enough to dump it out through the radiator cap.
I don't get any white smoke on startup, have tried running the engine...
I have family and friends in Southampton (very close to Beaulieu), so if you decide to go down the order new and deliver in the UK route, I'm sure I can find a custodian of it until you can get it collected.

All done.
One thing I did note is that the anti-rattle springs won't fit if you either use the shims that come with the pads, or the 'original' shims. I tried to bend the spring to accomodate but it didn't want to know, anyway, with copper grease in the right places I have no squeal on a road...
After finally rebuilding my rear calipers and getting them working nicely including the fact the handbrake now holds on my steep drive with 3 occupants, I thought it was time to replace the pads in the fronts.
Driver side was easy to do but the passenger side lower small piston will not budge...
My engine was the same when I bought the car. It had been stood around for a while and after I changed the oil to 20W-60 (there was also just over 6.5L in there!), and have done a few runs in it the tick has gone away thankfully.
So, I finally managed to remove both callipers, I found that a 15/16 spanner fitted over the cap just right and I was able to undo the swivel pins.
I rebuilt both callipers with a new seal kit, the drivers side handbrake lever was well and truly jammed but I managed to remove it finally and...
Thanks guys, I'll get some of the correct ones ordered next time I'm on Wins, which on't be long as I need some suspension parts :)
Thanks for the tip @GRTV8 Will use that method.

Hey guys, I was given 4 new seals and believe them to be the ones that go on the aluminium frames between the front wing and door.
Before I drill out the rivets and remove the old ones and staples (I'm going to try and reuse them), can someone confirm the seal in the second picture is correct...
