    Yes correct a P6B, The chap at Wadhams said there are two types of girling brakes!...Thats the confusing bit???? I did check them over when I had the diff removed, all I did was check everything was free, free off the small piston inside the nearside rear piston check for leaks and reassembled...

    As my car is at the garage I can not get a picture of the calipers to check wether they are the earlier type or later type calipers.....Can anyone post a pic of both types? Google cant find many pics of the rear bakes :lol:

    Its got all new flexi brake hoses at front and rear, brakes are bled but theres no reading from the nearside rear brake. The handbrake doesnt seem to sit right back on the caliper end of things?     Hi is there anyone here who is really knowledgeble about setting up the rear brakes that I could phone and speak to them? Put the P6 in for MOT yesterday and theres a strange issue with the nearside rear brake! Its better if I can explain to an "expert" :D Oh & preferably somebody in england...

    handbrake cable device that takes out the slack!

    Re the pic below: Is the green box/arrow the outer cable adjuster nuts you refer to? Are the quadrents you refer to next to the red arrow/box? Just wanted to check as the haynes is't that clear.

    new points & condenser but no start!!

    No rotor arm fitted whilst dizzy cap removed to check for a spark. Tried the old condenser after and it still sparks the same across the points but engine wont start, I'll try that vacum advance locking pin again, I think it located ok though.

    Ive fitted new pads and set the pistons so that the pads are touching the discs and its still free to move (not too tight) I'll wind that adjuster forward and try again, if not I'll take some pics and post them up on here. Thank you very much for your time...John

    He said aslong as theres reserve travel its fine but she goes tight on 7 clicks out of 8!!! I'm unsure of the correct setting up procedure?

    Is that the adjuster "thingymajig" between the handbrake lever and the rear brakes? If so its wound right to the edge of the threaded bit, should it be wound in so as its as far from the end as possible? Thank you

    new points & condenser but no start!!

    Re-assembling twin carbs and intake manifold

    I had one of the thermostat housing bolts shear on me last night, anyway upon re assembly will i need a new gasket for the intake holes (the big one that sits under the intake manifold)? Or will a bit of blur hylomar do the job? I'm going to blast it and repaint before fitting aswell. John

    Hi, Ive had a quote on insuring my P6, I'm 24 with a clean licence & no convictions How does £140 PA fully comprehensive sound? (Limited to 1500 miles PA which is adiquate for me) Can anyone recommend another insurer to try aswell please? Thanks for now......John :D

    Hi, I will do this tomorrow hopefully, basically I need the same amount of clearence as on the front discs? ...So the disc almost touches he pads (like when the brake pedal is released after braking) Thanks
