    V8 low oil pressure

Thanks again for the replies, that's very helpful. The garage rebuilt the oil pump pressure relief valve but there was no improvement. I'll try and look into the sump pickup and the rocker suggestions. There is a bit of tappet noise from the engine as well as the low oil pressure. Many thanks.

    V8 low oil pressure

Thanks for your information, that's useful to hear. I had some quite pronounced tappet noise earlier this year, but it went away. The oil pressure problem is a new one to me – coupled with tappet noise again, makes me wonder if there is possibly a blockage somewhere. The sump might be a good...

    V8 low oil pressure

Thank you for your reply. The oil pressure has usually been very good on my engine – up until now. I'll try and see if I can have it checked out as you suggested. Thanks.

    V8 low oil pressure

Hello, I’m wondering if anyone could give me advice on a problem with a V8 engine in a 3500s that is now running with low oil pressure. The engine has always run with good pressure 30-45 psi, however on a recent short trip the pressure gauge dropped to around 15psi with the warning light coming...

    3500s exhaust downpipes – Help!

I've tightened up the manifold bolts good and proper, but the gearbox mounting isn't so tight. There may be some movement here as I think the exhaust mount is a slot type. I'll try loosening the middle box mounting, checking the rear mounting and how the short section fits with the long section...

    3500s exhaust downpipes – Help!

Hi Dave thanks for your comments. The faces didn't meet without the bolts. I thought I could pull them together by tightening up the bolts – that didn't work. I had just removed the existing pipes which fitted fine and was hoping that it would be a straight swap(!). So basically you are saying...

    3500s exhaust downpipes – Help!

I am fitting a new set of downpipes to a 3500s and have come unstuck. The new pipe is short where it meets the middle box pipe, so there is a gap of about 4-5mm at this connection (the old pipes fitted OK). I thought I may be able to make up the difference when I tightened the bolts, but that...

Sound advice. I have to admit, laziness got the better of me!!

    P6 car covers

The leaks are mainly due to ill-fitting doors, so this is going to be an on-going job. I don't have a garage, so I need some kind of cover to protect the paint-work as well. I'll check out e-Bay and see what is available.

    P6 car covers

Hi All, I had an 'interesting' visit to the car wash the other day - it would be quicker to list where the water is not coming into the car. So, I'm now looking for a waterproof car cover to protect my less-than-waterproof P6 over the summer months. Has anyone bought a good fitting...

    Hi there…

Hi All I've just got my 3500s out of winter storage (in-laws garage), so I'll be checking out the forum to get a few maintenance and restoration tips. First job on my list is a replacement rear door… (!!) Best wishes, Ian.
