I was the seller! Just having a clear out as the Estate is being sold off. It was a pretty good buy as the bumpers were all in pretty good condition. I'd marked them up to be re-chromed but in the intervening 10 years forgotton all about them!
Good luck then, I was just looking at the possibilities for emigrating myself. I don't the wife was too keen on the idea though! I suffer very badly in the winter and the thought of moving somewhere with a better climate appeals immensely.
More pics added on ebay listing. I took the car out and gave it a good run this morning still goes like a dream. MOT is booked in for Tuesday so available for viewing from next week onwards.
I*'d love a P5B but my classic car days are over for now. Still got a couple of old bikes and I'll probably stick with those for the time being.
You know how it is. Life is good and then you have children!
Only kidding they're great but it don't half change things.
Thank you. I enjoyed doing the work and writing about it at the time. Life moves on though! Sad to see it all going but it's better that someone else has it now before it becomes neglected!
Just listed a load of spares too. Goodbye P6 world!!

A quick run down of the work done.

I'm asking £5500 for it. I don't know if you are familiar with the car but there has been a considerable amount of work carried out on it. I can send pics if you send me a mail with your address.
Cheers

The sale of the car will include 4 boards with photos detailing the restoration. One of the boards details the Supra gearbox installation. Buy the car and you'll have all the info you need!
I have found a folder with the pictures of the gearbox fitting so I will email them to you Alasdair.
Hi Pics are long since gone. I'll load them on to the for sale forum at some point.
The supra conversion was long winded but if you contact MrTask he may still have a copy of my geocities website from when I did the conversion.
Cheers

I also have a room full of spares down at my in laws farm up for grabs. Bumpers, wings and various other odds and sods etc. Willing to take an offer on the job lot if anyone in the derbyshire area would like to come and take a look.
Hi All,
You may remember me from years gone by on the forum. I restored a yellow rover P6 estate fitting a toyota supra 5 speed gearbox conversion and later adding Megasquirt fuel injection. Unfortunately the time has come to move on. I'm intending to put the car up for sale publicly in the...
Well at least I'm in good company! Looking again at mine there is still a bit of play in the bonnet hinges, will keep an eye out for NOS. Where did you find yours in the end Chris? Was it ebay or is there a secret P6 parts mine you have access too?
Does anyone else have trouble with their bonnet moving around at speed? When I get to about 70+ and the bonnet will sort of fidget slightly. If the prevailing wind is against the car this can be quite violent and rather disconcerting. My old saloon used to do it quite badly. This was improved by...
Repositioned the air temp sensors and....... much improvement! Not perfect yet but the idle is more consistent and part throttle is near perfect. Took it on 300mile round trip to the Forest of Dean and it went very well returning over 25mpg on the motorway. Cruises very nicely at 75mph but...
Ultimately do you really think we can have any affect market forces? It doesn't matter what valuation the club might apply to a vehicle. As the old saying goes "it will only sell for what someone is willing to pay for it". Witness the number of cars from any marque listed for sale with "valued...
I also ride classic motorcycles. The discussion in our club (The Ariel Owners Club) generally centres around the fact the rapidly inflating prices are taking the bikes out of reach of people who are be genuinely interested in riding the bikes. It has increasingly become apparent that the bikes...
Mine used to leak badly from one of the hose connections. Two new dowty washer cured is for a cost of around £2. Clean up and have a look could be easier than you think.
