    Fuel & Temperature Gauges - Series 2

It does look like there is no wire going to that post in the picture, but can't be sure. At any rate, measure the voltage coming into the reg and the voltage coming out and you will have your answer

    Door and Wing Seals Fastening

Well, after careful consideration........ I made my own new staples. (1/2 inch crown, 1/2 inch tall) easily bent over a form and made from wire. Then using a sharp awl, I pre-penetrated the rubber to mate with the former holes in the aluminum, and pressed the new staples through. A little...

My 2 cents worth: Everything is easier with the Engine hanging clear of the car.

    The Infamous Series 2 Fusebox

From many years experience with these type of fuse holders I would say, yes, squeezing the contacts helps to maintain contact. But...... Defeat the Prince of Darkness and get rid of that old box if peace of mind is something you would like while driving.

    Windscreen Wipers

Hadn't gotten around to think about windscreen wipers as the TC isn't on the road yet. So I pulled out blades from the spares box and found two sets. Both are Anco with the wind scoops to hold them down at speed .One set is 13 inch, and the other 15 inch. I guess I will look for replacement 15...

    Door and Wing Seals Fastening

Sadly I threw them all away after saving a sample thinking I could get new ones and a stapler. On the other hand, imagine cataloguing the location of about 50 staples?

    Door and Wing Seals Fastening

I have new rubber seals for the doors and wings. Originally these were attached by some kind of industrial staples which could penetrate both the rubber and the aluminum frame they are attached to. I don't have any such stapler, so I am wondering what other method might attach these seals . Hope...

    1967 2000TC - HOT

Thoroughly enjoy that video !! I expect I should make a similar one to see if anyone can explain the jumps that my capillary guage makes at idle. I replaced my cooler oil lines with high pressure hose and secured the old brass fittings with C clamps : no problems at all. Thanks for the trip...

Vale timing and clearances - symptoms

I have to say I believe valve clearances were engineered for a reason, and I accept those engineers who know more than I do. On the off-subject comments: There is a great wealth of experience represented in this forum, and you cannot buy that anywhere. I only wish I had a similar resource to...

Seat foam - make/carve your own?

Wherever the seat foam is exposed to air, it will eventually harden and turn into a crumbly substance. Same with the foam in the dash covering. Replacing it all now is probably a better idea than partial fixes. Giving you another 30- 40 years of service.

Soundproofing - a good candidate for updating?

I would add the following caution about using synthetic materials .They eventually deteriorate and change back to original, and/or different chemical compounds. While you may say ,"I won't be around to see that" ,time flies and there you are. In my own work I have seen this spoil an otherwise...

    Battery,alternator or starter motor

In my experience, any battery over 5 years old is a liability and can play tricks on you or fail at any time. If you need to depend on the vehicle, better replace that battery.
