Yellow headlights on my P6, would it work ?

Hmm, there are two positions for the high beam switch. Up means only the inner high beams and down only the outer normal beams. Pulling the switch towards me means both inner and outer will light up, also the normal outer beams Not sure if this is how it’s supposed to be though

Yellow headlights on my P6, would it work ?

Hi Marco, It’s the reflection on white surfaces that makes the difference I noticed, trafic plates and white marks on the road for example. You’re right that it suits the color of the car, at least I think so too. And it’s also typical for an Oldtimer car. Have a nice evening, Wilfred

    Discovered a nasty crack.. 1972 P6 2000TC

Good evening all, I’m not driving my P6 anymore for a while, at least not till this problem is resolved. I don’t want to take any risk. Not sure yet when it will be repaired, so it might get silent for who knows how long. Thanks anyway for all the support and I hope to post some good news soon...

    Discovered a nasty crack.. 1972 P6 2000TC

Thank you all, I already contacted Johan for this and sent him the same pictures I did here, awaiting his response. Geoff from Wins International might have these reinforcement plates ? I’m going to the UK again in the first week of March and can collect them there, who knows. Wilfred

    Discovered a nasty crack.. 1972 P6 2000TC

Good afternoon all, This afternoon I made a start with cleaning the surroundings, as it looks now it is definitely a corrosion issue, not an ideal situation when you also hit a curb (I believe that’s the English word for our “stoeprand”) This might have happened in the past after which the...

Yellow headlights on my P6, would it work ?

Hello, I installed the yellow headlights finally, I think it’s suits the colour of the car and the fact that it’s an oldtimer. Have a nice evening, Wilfred

    Hi from Sweden.

Hello, Welcome and greetings from The Netherlands. I’ve also got a 2000TC since last May, it’s a nice car to work on. Good luck with the welding, I thought that Sweden didn’t use salt on the roads ? Wilfred

    Replacement fuel cap lock P6

Good evening, I’m busy with a rather small but useful repair, which is replacing the fuel cap lock. I was a bit hesitant to remove the fuel filler, as I created an open connection to the inside of the tank and I don’t like the smell of fuel in my garage. So, to be on the safe side I put the...

Yellow headlights on my P6, would it work ?

Good evening, I haven’t had time yet to properly install the yellow lights, I’m afraid. My other oldtimer needs some serious attention to get it past the MOT. Not dramatic but the rules are much stricter now. Also, I’m in the UK this week to visit a motor car company in Crewe Which is nice...

    choke clip?

Good morning, I also spent a few hours yesterday to figure out how the choke light is supposed to be operating.. So, if I’m right the choke light stays off as long as the engine hasn’t reached a certain temperature yet, even when the choke is pulled out ? Once the engine is on temperature and...

Yellow headlights on my P6, would it work ?

End of experiment, I thought I could use conventional H4 halogen bulbs, but my P6 has got a combined reflector/bulb instead. Not sure if that’s common on a P6, but I will just leave it as it is. Anyway, it’s a nice discussion. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Wilfred

Yellow headlights on my P6, would it work ?

Different for sure, you’re right. You can’t miss a car with yellow headlights, I associate it with an oldtimer car. I will change them tomorrow I think and see how it looks, that’s the only way to find out ;) To be continued.. Wilfred

Yellow headlights on my P6, would it work ?

Hi, yes no problem. Lights at the front can be either white or yellow. At the back only red is allowed, except for the return lights. They must be white. Indicator lights must be orange. (We like rules that do not make any sense :))

Yellow headlights on my P6, would it work ?

Hmm, nice combination with the colour of the car, my Mexico Brown would also fit I think. Either you like it or you don’t, there’s no in between. It’s also safer they thought, when you drive in the fog for example or heavy rain, the reflection is much less, on the other hand traffic plates...

Yellow headlights on my P6, would it work ?

Good morning, Some oldtimer cars are equipped with yellow headlights, French cars are a good example. I also read that Triumph used yellow lights as a standard in the old days, at least they offered it as an option. So.. I wonder how it would fit on my P6. Are there any members who did the...

Electronic ignition module in my P6

Morning, That’s hard to tell from a distance, maybe this diagram helps you out. The only difference with your example is that the control module is inside the distributor. To measure is to know ;)

Valve clearance, timing chain etc. P6 2000TC

I’m just reading this and realised that I kept my spark plug gaps at 0.6 mm, which is about 0.024” You wrote it can be changed to 0.04”, which is about 1mm. Is that correct? My P6 has also got electronic ignition, hence my question. Cheers, Wilfred

Valve clearance, timing chain etc. P6 2000TC

That’s clear then, I could get 0.15 easily in though. So it’s probably close to 0.20
