Now and then the valves starts ticking. Why?

If you are pulling the top off the engine to check the seats also check the valve guides I found a loose one - my noise was only about 4000 RPM and cycled in and out of some harmonic (I thought it was a broken valve spring but not the case) - definitely top end noise - just going thru now will...

Paint or no on engine block casting

Thanks guys - there actually was a very little bit of, as you call it "duck egg blue" on the back side of the engine adjacent to the firewall but so 'weathered' I wanted to make sure it was not overspray - any chance someone has the code for said duck reposible for these fine rare blue eggs?

Paint or no on engine block casting

I have pulled the engine on my 1966 2000 TC(Vin 41801654 A) to 'do' the clutch and am in a quandry - the block does NOT appear to have been painted which would be easy to do now - strange but perhaps originally as the ole assy line video I watched did not obviously show any color - does anyone...

    Rover 2000 TC revisited

Sorry, forgot to answer specific questions - seat color is what I'd call a very dark brown. -But, since I'm colour blind I'll defer till I get a visualluy un-impaired opinion (will advise) and yep the rear section of body to roof transition panels are blue just like my ole ride, - which is what...

    Rover 2000 TC revisited

I owned an identical (even same color scheme) car way back in 1969 (it was a 1967 2000TC). I have harbored the memories through the years and when I found this one (a one owner original paint black plate CA car w/60K miles) despite it's 'needy' state it was a matter of, "I gotta do this". I've...
