Sad to say its time to move on the my 2200sc. I've had fun using it over the last year but need the space on the drive for my caravan. Its on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-P6-2200sc-Auto-/252286869509?hash=item3abd782005:g:9-AAAOSwLnlWm1jP

Thanks Pilkie, is this the sealing ring? http://shop.roverp6cars.com/epages/es14 ... ts/GEX7470
I dont think there was one on mine when I took the front pipe off
I used the old girl as a daily driver for work while my mk4 mondeo drained £1300 from me for a new steering rack and pump  Whilst being in use every day the subtle blow from the manifold turned into a bellow, so after attempting to renew the gaskets, the pitting of the mating surface was...
I have tried to find wheel centres for my sd1 alloys without joy. Here is my diy attempt using some old wolfrace centres (ebay) and new flat centres. Better than nothing as long as they stay on :D
A quick update on the sd1 wheels, I jacked out the offside d-post which gave just enough clearance for the 195 tyres and seems to be no issue with the upper links. I trial fitted the fronts today while waiting for my battery to charge  (see my breakdown post) the smaller grease caps i...
All sorted (i think) Charged the battery and fitted the old points Bingo! Will probably refit the powerspark points next weekend to see if it was them or mabaye the battery is on its way out it does seem not to crank all that great although isn't that old. I'm not up to speed on ballast...
Any excuse to get away from the kids Pete :D but seriously its a better weather for a spin this morning but eating a sausage sandwich while the battery is charging aint no hardship :D
Went for a spin yesterday and after an hour of running sweet as you like it just cut out 3.5 miles from home bugger! No spark at plugs I had a spare rotor arm but still no luck. The points have been replaced with Powerspark electronic jiggerypokery so the plan today is to put the old points and...
Turns out both headlights failed on the same day  I plugged in an old spitfire headlight and BINGO. It looks like a Halogen set of outers for me then.
After passing its MOT last week the offside headlight stopped working then the nearside :? Now there is no dipped lights and when switched to main beam the outer lights come on but are quite dim. Anyone had similar?
Hi Marcus, I spoke to Rimmers today and was told the caps were no longer avaliable but the part number they gave me brought this up on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221050583054? ... EBIDX%3AIT I have ordered two so I'll let you know if they are any good.

Thanks for the info Pat, I'm a novice with p6's and thought I just needed the right wheelnuts and smaller front grease caps. The offside d post will push out as I did batter it in bit when welding it up. Anyone have recommendations on sourcing sd1 grease caps please?
Trial fitted my alloys but forgot you need smaller front grease caps  The rears were a bit better but I'm not happy with the offside clearance, it rubbed a bit first time but after a little persuasion was driveable although not satisfactory. I'll get the BIG hammer out next weekend :D and...
Its taken a bit longer than I though but my p6 is back on the road after a 14 year lay up. Although my hvlp paint job is not the best, its better than rust :D It passed its mot this week then the front lights decided to pack in  dont you just love old cars :D Apart from the electric demons...
5th time lucky, got to the mot garage  Passed 1st time Yesssss
Turns out it was running lean, thats why it kept running rough once warmed up (thanks colortune)
1/2 turn on the mixture screw and its like a different car :D
