i have a spare v8 engine free to anyone who wants to collect it from blackpool. its partially stripped and missing the front cover and some of the valve train, but the heads are still on and it has good compression.afaik its been rebored/reground recently,but the p/o had oil pump probs so maybe...

i know the lights thing is to do with being ''americanised'' but why? to me most cars such converted look wrong..... and in the case of the sd1 theres nothing wrong with them in the first place craig

as title really, has anyone come across this? my s1 v8 has p5 rostyle wheels fitted and i like the look of them, but when setting off something is squeaking in time with the wheels going round.i've had a good look at the bushes and replaced the driveshsft uj's(these was worn anyway) even...

well had a slight problem today, refitted the box to the car and all went well till i found the angle drive fouls the mounting bracket flange on the car :( i'm thinking most of the clearance issues are being caused by the r/r bellhousing being so long,not that it doesnt fit but is close in some...

oops i should be clearer,, whilst i didnt buy 2 complete boxes i did get the r/r bellhousing,torque converter and associated bits from a 4x4 breaker to go along with the complete jag box craig

we're on it, going to see about how much it will cost to put kits together. unfortunately i haven't got the time to spend making lots of the spacers etc but know a couple of places to get them lazer cut for eg. before that can happen i need to test the car when its complete to prove it works...

thanks harvey,no the driver gear is as it came,its hardened so i cant do much with that, for the tricky bits like the gears i wanted to use as many off the shelf parts as possible. you are correct the output flange clamps it in place. craig

thanks for the input folks, i'll agree the Dakota option is the most sensible option all round apart from the cost. easy to fit and as proved works well. however i am fortunate enough to have access to cheap machining through work and i like the challenge i'm going to carry on with the options...
