My 1972 Rover 2000 TC has developed a very sloppy gear lever and its now troublesome to find 3rd gear from 2nd would this be something to do with the gear lever bush and could a new bush be the answer? Could i get at this with out the gearbox being removed? Thanks.

Hi I had the same problem you need to remove the slave cylinder and bleed whilst hanging down , this allows all air to be expelled. Once done refit the slave cylinder. This should sort your problem if this has not woked you may need to replace the slave cylinder but let in hang when bleeding...

Rover p6 bonnet wanted just finished restoring my rover 2000 TC 1972,whilst driving to the MOT station the bonnet blew up - hence reason for replacement . I am in Nothamptonshire.
