    SD1 LT77 Gearbox Mount

I don't consider it rude! :) I've spent around £350 on parts, not including the gearbox, bellhousing or remote which cost an additional £360ish (I got lucky - they normally go for a whole lot more). I'm also paying someone to do the swap for me, for which I was quoted "around £300."

    SD1 LT77 Gearbox Mount

Thanks for the advice, Colin. I'll see if I can fish the dimensions out from somewhere and get something similar to the mount I'm looking for created. If I was doing the swap myself I'd be fine - I could measure it up, then make it and then bolt it on - but I'm paying someone else to do it due...

    SD1 LT77 Gearbox Mount

Huh, I wasn't aware of that - but it does make some sense. Thanks for the tip! :) I'll continue looking for an SD1 Gearbox mount at the same time though. Just to be sure.

    SD1 LT77 Gearbox Mount

Not quite sure what you want me to look at in that thread, but the SD1 gearbox mount (the one I'm after) was the one used for that conversion, it was just modified slightly.

    SD1 LT77 Gearbox Mount

Hi all, I'm on the final stretch to get my car to a mechanic to finally get it back on the road. However the problem I keep running into is not having something that will support the gearbox. So this is a super desperate request - and I am obviously willing to pay - for a gearbox mount from...

Thank you. Posting it would be a huge help! How much would you like for it?

    SD1 Gearbox Support Plate & P6 3500 (auto) Propshaft

Hi all, Currently planning on getting my 3500S back on the road with a handy gearbox swap to an LT77, but I'm missing one part that I need and one that isn't so vital. I desperately need a gearbox support plate from an SD1, but cannot find one online for love nor money. The other part I...

    V8 Gearbox Conversion query

I'm going to cut straight to it - I ruined the standard gearbox in my 3500S. It started making some alarming noises a few weeks back so I knew it was coming and one hot getaway from a standstill just tore it up. My P6 is currently out of use. I've been trying to find some information about...

    P6 V8 insurance costs?

That sounds about right, actually. I pay very close to that. I think it was ~£450 before I chucked breakdown support on the policy too. I turn 22 next month, I've been driving for just over four years, clean licence, just me on the car and fully comp.

    ~18:40. Stanley Hill, Amersham. P6.

Hi all, My friend thinks she spotted a P6 driving down Stanley Hill in Amersham at around 18:40 this evening. Was this you? If so, give me a shout! :D I understand this is INCREDIBLY vague, but I figured I'd try anyway. Thanks!

P6 Series 2 Headlight knob [pic]

No worries. Is there somewhere I can find a list of said suppliers? Or a general database with useful links? Sorry to keep asking stupid questions, ha.

P6 Series 2 Headlight knob [pic]

I'm new to all this. I've owned this car for a little over a month now, I don't know peoples names on here and I don't know who does what. I know of many online sellers (completely unrelated to classic cars) that overcharge for postage - I wasn't aware that this could be an issue that could be...

P6 Series 2 Headlight knob [pic]

Thank you for the swift response! I'm not too bothered about getting one that's brand new (or nearly new) as the other two in the car are used anyway. £10 for the item is reasonable, I just think £6 for P&P is rather expensive. I got something heavier and bigger shipped from Germany the...

P6 Series 2 Headlight knob [pic]

Hi all, The other day, when turning the interior lights on from inside the car, the knob split in half. After this, I noticed there is also a three-pronged version of this knob which (I believe) is commonly used as a headlight switch (easier to feel in the dark). MGBD Parts are charging £10...

    S2 3500S badge for wing

Hey all, I noticed my 3500S actually has a 3500 badge on one of its wings (I have a feeling the panel was replaced after a crash at some point, but the part must have come from an automatic model). I was wondering if someone had a series 2 3500S badge for a wing knocking around somewhere and...

    Turn signals a bit slow?

Well poo. That's annoying. No, I didn't get a chance - I ordered the part on the train home from work yesterday. It's all good though, I'll send it back (or sell it to someone that needs one here) and order that one AFTER I check the unit itself. Thanks!

    Turn signals a bit slow?

I ordered the Lucas SFB105 / 35020 FL5 GFU2103. After doing a search on the forums I found that this was the correct replacement, unless I am mistaken. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231045181113

    Turn signals a bit slow?

My father pointed out to me that the turn signals on Brol are a bit slow. The hazard warning lights are fine, but the turn signals stay on for 2x or 3x the time they are off... If that makes sense. We thought it could be the battery so we charged it up but that didn't help. Has anyone else had...

    Fuel Pump question

Update: It did die on the way home, but only after I got stuck in traffic on the M25 (manage to ditch it on the hard shoulder as soon as I noticed it was struggling). It's something to do with the pump and idling for long periods of time. Going to run more tests this weekend and see what...

    Interior Smells

I noticed the old car smell on my clothes yesterday as well! I spent most of the day working on the car and then driving it about (as I'd got it just two days before), but it's very nostalgic for me. My father owned an MGB when I was younger and they have a similar smell, although my Rover...

    Fuel Pump question

Excellent! Nice to know I'm on the right track then. I'm collecting the Rover later today ('excited' doesn't cover it) so if it dies on the way home I'll order that and hopefully try to fit it early next week. A switch for it does sound like a good idea, actually! I'll look into it. Thank you...

    Fuel Pump question

Could you send me a link to the pump you got, or is this one correct? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360758769989? ... EBIDX%3AIT Yeah, that's the only other thing I think it could be. The current owner did have a mechanic have a look at it all and he said he couldn't work it out, so I'm assuming...
