1972 P6 3500 For Sale

Hello all

I am reluctantly selling my 1972 Rover P6 3500, as due to the current climate I am having to sell this and my van, in order to get a tow car and trailer, so that my own business can hopefully be profitable again.

In summary, the car is a 1972 tax exempt V8 model with MOT until May 6th 2012 and tax until the end of December, although this is FREE!! It has been my daily driver since I purchased it in around September 2010. The engine was fully rebuilt, with a tasty Holley downdraught carb, which has only just finished being run in, and the 5-speed manual gearbox conversion from an SD1. It has power steering and some polished genuine Wolfrace Slotmags.

The base unit is the real star here having never been welded, but being incredibly solid and rust free.

I've put together a web page with all the details/pictures here, so take a look: http://larkemusic.com/rover/rover.html

The car is located in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Thanks

Hi, on a side note, I don't know what your business is. But be careful about you tow car
and trailer combo going over 3.5 tonnes because as from Dec 4 the rules change and it
will mean tacho's and operators licence and possibly driving licence issues.

Sorry to be a harbinger of doom.

Colin

Looks very nice good luck with the sale don't think you'll have much trouble selling her if the pics are anything to go by,
certinaly a car I would view if I was in the market.
although It looks familiar to me did you purchase it from east london :?:
not too far from me

Familiar number plate for me too, from long ago I think :)

Not far from me, good luck with the sale

Morning Chaps

Thanks for the comments. I've already had quite a few enquiries on her since advertising her last night.

That looks really nice! Why not stick a towbar on the Rover?

Chris

Believe me, I've thought about it, Chris, but there is no way in hell that, aside from me, I'm going to stick four chain smoking musicians in my P6!! They can get stuffed!!

Plus, I don't want to give George Osborne more money in fuel duty than he deserves for my frequent trips right across the UK.

I'd hate to spoil the car as it is the basis for a really stunning car with a little work.

Without looking at the logbook, I think it was East London. I've got a feeling I picked her up from somewhere at the bottom of the A10.

Hi Colin

Thanks for the information. Thankfully I'm only lugging about a PA system and instruments, which feel like 3.5 tonnes on the back sometimes, but luckily isn't anywhere near that.

Regards

Alex
