2.2 sc DASH TEMPERATURE GUAGE (strip speedo)

Hello has anybody got a properly working temp gauge for the 2.2 sc (1974) that sits in the strip speedo. as i think mine is giving me alarmist readings!

Have you tried changing the sensor?
I think I had this problem some years ago. You can physically feel the heat from the engine if it's too hot.
