3500S sat for 2years - any advice b4 s

My 1972 3500S was last driven about two years ago, she has been sat outside since although was an MOT'd runner when I left her.
I recently moved her (on the back of a transporter) and she rolls freely enough so no brakes seized on and the gears select easily enough.
I'm wondering if anyone has any advice about what to do before I charge up the battery and try and start her. Not planning on any long distance driving just running up to temperature.
All the fluids are topped up (especially oil and water) so should I throw in some EasyStart and turn the key, what's the worst that could happen?
Thanks, Mike

Mike,
I wouldn't be too worried about the engine - Turn it over by hand for a couple of revolutions - But I suspect that you clutch would be stuck to the flywheel!
Regards, John.
p.s. Another good reason I prefer auto's!

You could always take the plugs out, and crank it a few times on the starter, to get oil and fuel pressure up.

Other than that just give it a go, either get somebody to start it while you watch under the bonet, or you start it and get somebody else to watch. I started my 2.2TC after a long layup and it all seemed fine until I smelt petrol and found about a gallon of petrol sprayed over the engine from a split fuel line !!

Personally I would keep "The Elixir Of Death" (easystart) well away from it, it causes more problems than it solves. I would agree crank it to get fuel up and some oil pressure then check for a spark and add some fresh fuel and it should go! Keep an eye on the temp make sure the thermostat opens

Hi anyone,
I have a 2000SC that may have clutch plate stuck as someone has mentioned. Have bled then replaced clutch cylinder and master cylinder and pipe to no avail. Clutch rod moves but with engine started can't move into any gear. How do I know if it is stuck and how do I free it?
I have been told it may be a collapsed clutch plate.

Before I got it the car had been stood for 3/4 years. The brakes are also siezed but that's another problem!!!

Any car I`ve known...manual of course! with a clutch stuck due to being unused, I put the car in gear and start it with the key, this has, without fail or damage, freed the clutch!
