Alloy Wheel question - SD1 alloys

I have obtained a set of 5 rather nice sd1 14" alloys for my P6. When I say rather nice - I mean the design.

ICan someone give me an idea of the value - the previous owner has asked me to give him what they are worth!

Some have corrosion damage and all will require many many hours of sanding and then repainting etc.

So what are they worth?

I know there are some alloy experts on the board!

5 alloys needing work ? No nuts/studs/tyres ?
I'd offer £50 - £75 for the lot

I had a Renault Laguna alloy refurbed by a company in Maidstone called Spit and Polish. Local tyre dealers are agents .The wheel came back better than the others But it cost about £50

As they are 14inchers 50 - 75 sounds about right, they would be worth a bit more if they were the 15inch vitesse ones though
Cheers

....I bought a set of 5, the gold painted SD1 14" alloy rims, for £5.00 on eBay a few months back. Usuable rubber, just needed a good scrub to be presentable. Might refinish them, might not. Could be for sale as using 15" Vitesse rims now. Brand new Michelin tyre on one, a bonus :)

you could push a set of metric thread studs out of a SD1 hub (Sierra would do), but that means you have to fuss putting UNF thread studs back in again at sale time if you want to keep the SD1 rims (or if buyer wants old wheels fitted for originality)

£35 bought me a set of chrome UNF 7/16 thread nuts with the correct collar, which was best I think

This SD1 collared nut topic was mentioned elsewhere on this forum early 2005, and probably answered better. Search and you should find.

ok thanks for that i didnt search to far back so will look again.sd1 nuts and studs are not difficult to find..there is a yard near me that had about 10 sd1 rovers in with alloys and good tyres..for about £50-£100 for a set of 5 wheels i know the yard owner so hopefully he will let me have the studs and nuts as well included in the price..

I would think about buying new studs if you can though, they can suffer from metal fatigue. I've broken two on my P6 hub.
