Alu cleaning

I have just discovered that the leaky exhaust manifold has really blackend the under side of my inlet manifold.

Can anyone suggest a good, cheap and simple way of cleaning this alu part?

Through the dishwasher and then Aluminuim wheel cleaner will bring it back up quite nicley.

err yeah alloy wheel cleaner - I have a 5ltr bottle and would have given you a little on Sunday ....

sand blast cabinet is on my shopping list...

Had a go at cleaning the inlet manifold and it scrubbed up dead easy.

I found some paint under the dirt, does anyone know if theses were painted or just bare alloy?

Mine was just bare alloy.
