Not wanting to do cut and shut to any of the wireing, is ther any problem if I use a supply from a spare terminal on the ignition coil so as run a auxilary electric coolant fan

Regards John.

I wouldn't John & anyway if you have a ballasted coil it wont work as you wont get 12 volts, I would take it from a spare feed at the fuse box & through a relay, Quattro has just done his recently & I'm sure he did a nice little wiring diagram for it

Regards Colin

An auxilary fan will use a lot of current and should be wired via a relay.

If you take it from the coil you could overload the wiring system which could melt soemthing, especially as that circuit is not fused.

It also passes through a ballast resistor meaning you only have 6 - 9V anyway.

Not a good idea :?

It was the fuel pump I did, but it would work as well with the fan.

Just have to make up your mind whether you wanted to have the fan available only with the ignition on or at any time - so it would carry on after the engine was turned off to cool the rad down with engine off.
