Hello all. Has anyone drained the torque convertor and box down? I've replaced the sump gaskets and am wondering if they need primed before startup.

When I stripped my BW65 box, I also removed the convertor and drained it fairly completely by sucking out the fluid using a mityvac. The pump was also empty as was every pipe, tapping and servo in the box.
None were primed before start up, and it all works ok, therefore I doubt if it will need priming after simply changing the sump gasket, especially as the convertor and pump should still be fairly full.

Well When I took the sump off, there was a pipe lying loose on the valve block. The box worked fine before it came out the car (I think), so I removed the valve block and found where the pipe had come from. I 've also been emptying as much as possible everytime I'm in the shed from the convertor. But if it works ok, then I'm a happy man. Cheers Mike.
